Those crazy guys at Snapstream have built an 11 Tuner personal video recorder!
Although “personal” is a bit of a minsomer… this could record video for a whole building!
It’s the sort of thing I’d be interested in if Sky+ didn’t work so well. One for the future ‘techno house’ perhaps…

The LG AN110 Video Projector – It does HTDV (1080i) and mounts directly onto your well if you want. But the best thing is that it really looks like HAL from the film 2001: A Space Odessy. Brilliant!

Updated: Direct link to press release from LG UK – allegedly out “September 2005″ so presumably should be here Real Soon Now.

The crazy people at LaCie are soon to launch the Brick Desktop Hard Drive, a brilliant, stackable external hard drive system. I believe they even automatically work together when stacked – how’s that for expandable storage? They even come in a slimline ‘mobile’ version (pictured above right).
Crazy, but good crazy.
As mentioned by bobble, I have a new job, starting Monday. I won’t say with who, but it’s another game developer. In fact it’s with the biggest one there is, it’s all very exciting and I should be working on a game series that I’ve already spent many hours playing!
Also, it’s really time for a new phone – my old thing is driving me to distraction, and I desperately need a phone that actually syncs data with my PC, especially as I might have a lot of new contacts / calendar entries with the new job. The good news is that I gave Orange a call last week and they tell me I will have had my current phone 10 months on the 13th of October, and then I can get a new one. The standard length of time you have a phone is 12 months but apparently they have some kind of ‘new deal for existing customers’ that I can take advantage of.

The bad news is that the HTC Universal I’d been lusting after is still ‘coming soon’! oooh! Also it’s likely to be a few hundred pounds, so that puts me off a little bit… I think I will return to a phone brand that’s always worked well for me in the past, that is Sony Ericsson, as there is a K600i which Orange do for ‘free’ on pay monthly tariffs. So I’ll grab one of those next week and finally have a phone that doesn’t crash every time I try to use a wap bookmark, and actually lets me sync contacts. Hooray!
In other news, we have an exciting new gadget in the Bubb/Bobble household, more on that soon!
mmm, a very handy FAQ from Engadget on the HTC Universal. It all sounds rather good, hurry up orange and sell me one! Grrr.

Yes, it’s finally on the orange website,
the HTC Universal – aka the SPV M5000. Can’t wait to upgrade to it and
ditch the current p.o.s. phone I have… which, incidentally is the Sanyo s705 – very bad software, crashes, short battery life. Not a great introduction to 3G.
