For the past week or so I have been mostly job hunting as sadly NCsoft EU are closing their development studio down and basically moving it to the USA. I’ve got no real interest right now in moving out of Brighton (I’ve only just got here, and its lovely as well) so I am job hunting like a good ‘un at the moment.
Fortunately I’ve been in the games industry for 10 years and know a shocking amount of people in various different companies, so I’ve had some interviews already, have more booked for next week and there are also some really interesting jobs going, to boot!
So, exciting stuff, although it wasn’t really planned, I’m sure it will all work out ok in the end.
Plus today I get to go and sign my official volutary redundancy paperwork and thus get a couple of months pay tax free (and usual pay up to today, I think) – so there is no financial panic for a few weeks yet, which means I can take my time to get the ‘right’ job rather than just any old job.
Keep fingers crossed…
