Movie Night in the new flat!

Well, not quite yet – but we’ve finished the lounge layout, which includes a projector, a suitably large screen and of course, a good movie:

New Flat Movie Night - OLD SCHOOL

Today I was told that the mortage has been officially “offered” so the deal is nearly done! As I’ve already signed and paid up the desposit, I should hear in a couple of days that the contracts have been exchanged and then the fun really starts… eeek!

Lots more pics of the flat coming soon, still finishing up the bedroom design! Here’s a plan to be getting on with – nearly there as you can see:

Also I couldn’t resist making up an abstract desktop out of the line rendering from sketchup – if you want to do the same, save out a line rendering as a PDF, render it out at high resoltuion and then scale it back down and put a nice gradient behind it. Easy!

urgh, too much comment spam that’s not being caught by the auto-filter.

So I’ve turned off notification to me when there are comments to approve. Apologies if it takes longer for your comment to appear than normal.

flat update

Sorry for the lack of posts – busy busy at work and getting things ready for the flat purchase. That’s currently dragging a bit – STILL waiting for the bank to decide if they want to approve the mortgage, there is a huge backlog apparently :-(

Although we are also waiting for paperwork from the seller’s solicitor, so I don’t think we’re holding things up.

It’s weird, though, because for some reason I didn’t think the bank would be the slow bit. I was expecting all the to-ing and fro-ing with solicitors would take the time. Ah well, as long as it goes ahead – we’ve done plenty of fun planning with Google Sketchup and the IKEA catalogue all the same!

Here is a quick taste – more soon:
