I’m waiting for my mortgage broker bloke to get back to me on whether we can get a mortgage for a flat in a nice, but unfortunately “high rise” block. It is a very nice block that is managed by a tenants association rather than the council, but mortgage lenders can get “funny” about such things so I don’t want to make an offer unless I know for sure I can back it up!
I left messages on his voicemail on saturday and this morning, and still nothing. He’s not really earning his fee at the momemnt! Hmph…
Still on the good side we have an accepted offer on another place that is nearly as nice, just on the ground floor, which I was hoping to avoid. Ah well. The perils of being a first time buyer in a seller’s market (those bloody sellers, grrr! *shakes fist*)
So, I am officially hunting for a flat today! We have a solicitor (who, happily, I already knew but didn’t know what he did) and a mortgage “agreement in principle” and I have the day off to be shown around flats by agents. eeep!
Of course, due to a slight gap in showings I’ve managed to pop into the Apple store in Regent Street and am typing this on a shiny MacBook… oddly for a mac laptop it’s the screen that’s shiny and not the laptop. It’s very bright and I like the new keyboard, although it somehow feels a little bit of a cheaper keyboard… is that just me? I’d still take one anyway
Oooh, extra wide touchpad… just noticed…
And another thing, right? As soon as I stop working in Kingston Apple announce they will open an Apple Store in the Bentalls centre – what’s up with that? Gargh!
So yes, flathunting. Trying not to put in an offer on the first reasonably good place I see, despite everyone saying “quick, buy now before someone else!”
So, have seen some good places in Bermondsey today, one with plenty of space but – of course – pushing both the top price bracket quite a bit. Erk. Am off to Foxtons Balham this afternoon so now doubt will be shown lots of highly inappropriate crack dens in Brixton. Hey, it’ll make me appreciate the Bermondsey one more!
We now have CoComments integration on both my and Bobble‘s blog.
Hooray!

Don’t forget to vote in this year’s Golden Joystick awards…
Also, I have to say that I’m loving the Xbox 360 Dashboard update – finally I can download games & demos in the background whilst I play Burnout Revenge and listen to tracks from my iPod.
Truly, I’m living the deam
That is, in the office World Cup Sweepstake, I got Brazil!
So now I can cheer on FOUR teams in the World Cup: England, Italy, Sweden and Brazil.
Hooray!
As I don’t use it any more, and it’s just changed and screwed everything up anyway.
Also it doesn’t seem to be letting Bobble log in any more.
Well, screw em!
